Dear Fellow Members,

The next technical meeting of the chapter year will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the Hanover Manor in East Hanover, NJ.  Our guest speaker will be Ellen Griffith, CMA, CPIM of Northhighland, who will be speaking about Dimensional Profitability Analysis.  This is a topic very near and dear to me, because this is one of the many ways that management accountants can add value to their companies.  This will also be our last technical meeting of the chapter year, as we have a special event planned for May, which will be announced at our next meeting.

I would like to thank Robert Lane of Best Buy’s Geek Squad for his presentation in March on stretching our IT dollars during these recessionary times.  Saving money is more important than ever these days, and there is always potential for savings with IT, since there is always potential for spending with IT.

As always, we invite our members to volunteer their time to get involved with their Chapter.  Here are some ideas of how you can help:

Join the Board.  We can always use more help.

Provide suggestions for topics and/or speakers for our chapter meetings (either to me or any Board member).

Give ideas on how we can improve our chapter, as well as how our chapter can help you maximize the benefit of your membership in the IMA.

Be sure to attend our chapter meetings, usually held at the Hanover Manor on the third Wednesday of each month.

I look forward to seeing you at our chapter meeting.

Sincerely,

William Barish, CMA

IMA Morris-Essex Chapter President
